The Last Five Years, a recipient of a Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Musical, explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two young New Yorkers who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically.

The inventive musical style draws on a number of musical genres, including pop, jazz, classical, Klezmer, Latin, Blues, Rock, and Folk.

The Last Five Years will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm, June 13-16 at Tryon Fine Arts Center.
