Shakespeare & Friends presents the immortal Charles Dickens story, brought to life in an all-new production.

All your favorite characters come to life in this stunning one-man adaptation of A Christmas Carol. From Tiny Tim to Ghosts Past, Present and otherwise, to Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge himself, performer Andy Millard creates the magic of this Christmas tale onstage.

This special production will be held on the Clinton, SC campus of Presbyterian College in Edmunds Hall. Proceeds from the performance will benefit renovations to the college’s Harper Center and reemerging theater program.

Andy Millard (PC class of ‘79) learned all about theater under the supportive influence of PC theater Professor Dr. Dale O. Rains. He found that theater provided him with an endless array of challenging learning opportunities beyond the classroom: painting sets in Jacobs Hall’s Black Magic theater, hanging lights, ordering tickets, typing Dr. Rains’ correspondence, and of course acting, including the title role in Macbeth his senior year. After marrying his PC sweetheart Sharon Millard (‘79), Andy went on to obtain his master’s degree in Speech Communication and Theater Arts from Wake Forest, and at 25 became North Carolina’s first full-time junior high school drama teacher (as far as anyone knows!). During his subsequent roles as a school principal, community leader, and manager of investment portfolios for private clients, he has always believed that the life skills he learned from Dr. Rains and PC Choir director Dr. Charles Gaines were his best training for whatever life threw at him. Returning to campus 46 years after commencement, Andy could not have found a more fitting setting for this classic fable’s themes of aging, redemption, and personal change for the better.
